I took my 8 year old over to O'Reilly Raceway Park for the Nationwide race on Saturday night, along with my Dad. We got free tickets from Fastenal and the tickets came with some Fastenal Carl Edwards hats. On the way to the track, I asked my son who he would be cheering for (he is a Khane/Sadler fan). He said Brad Keselowski. My Dad is a Carl Edwards fan and reminded him that he was wearing a Carl Edwards hat and we had free tickets thanks to Edwards' sponsor. My son didn't care - he was sticking with Keselowski so they had some good natured teasing about the recent run-ins between the two.

We get to the race and I take my son over by the haulers (outside of the track). We are waiting for a buddy of mine (works with Allgaier) by the haulers when Brad Keselowski walks by. I yell "Hey Brad, would you be nice enough to sign my sons hat?" He turns around and looks at the Carl Edwards hat and immediately starts laughing and says "oh yeah, sure I'll sign it." He comes over and signs the hat and tells my son "thanks for coming out tonight and I hope you enjoy the race buddy." Only took a minute or two, but I thought that was really nice.

We also had a crew member for the #88 nationwide team bring a brand new Jimmie Johnson hat for my son (he works on the #48 crew on Sundays). He also thanked us for coming out.

The race was great and now we have a Carl Edwards hat autographed by Keselowski. I also think that Keselowski now has a life-long fan in my son. Just thought I would share.
